Quotes

Is the quote free?

Yes. Tell us about the garden in the form and your quote is worked out for it, so you can see what's included. Sending the form asks for a quote only.

What should I put in the form?

Your contact details, the address or plot number, and anything you know about the garden: rough size, front, back or both, slopes, what the ground is like now and how materials get in. The more you share, the better your quote fits.

I haven't moved in yet. Can I still ask?

Yes. If you only have a plot number, put it in the form with the development's postcode. Many people plan their lawn before completion.

How do I book once I have a quote?

Accept your quote and pay the deposit. The deposit holds your date and comes off the final bill, and the rest is due on the day the work starts.

Ground and preparation

What does ground preparation include?

Clearing builders' debris from the surface, breaking up ground compacted by site traffic, levelling and grading, adding topsoil where the existing layer is too thin, then rolling. Your quote lists each part.

My builder left lots of rubble. Is that included?

Surface debris cleared during preparation is included and taken away. Larger amounts of builders' rubble are priced separately, and your quote shows it if it's needed.

Can you replace poor builders' turf?

Yes. Old turf can be lifted and taken away where needed, the ground prepared properly, and new turf laid.

Do you lay patios or paths?

No. New Build Turfing is turfing only: ground preparation and turf. Turf is cut neatly to any paths, patios or drives already there.

Turf and timing

When is the best time to turf a new-build garden?

Spring and early autumn are usually easiest, when the soil is warm and moist. Turf can be laid in most months when the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged. Our area guides give local timing.

How long does it take?

Most gardens are finished within a day. Expect longer for a big plot or heavy prep.

Aftercare

How much do I water new turf?

Generously and regularly until it roots, usually every day in dry weather for the first couple of weeks, then less often. You'll get watering and first-mow guidance with your lawn.

When can I mow and use the lawn?

Once the roots have taken, usually after a few weeks, with the mower on a high setting. Light use is fine after that; heavier use once the lawn is well established.

Trade and developers

Do you turf plots for housebuilders?

Yes. Select Trade or Developer at the top of the form, enter the company and how many plots, and give the site name and timings in the last box.
